The Moldcoop Executive Board – The Operational Engine of the Cooperative System
Within the organizational structure of the Central Union of Consumer Cooperatives of the Republic of Moldova, the Moldcoop Executive Board plays a key role as the body responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational coordination of the organization. Operating continuously based on the Moldcoop Statute and its own internal regulations, the Executive Board manages the Union’s current activities between Board of Directors meetings, convening monthly or whenever necessary.
The Executive Bureau fulfills a wide range of responsibilities that are vital to the proper functioning and development of Moldcoop, including:
๐น Implementing decisions issued by the governing bodies of Moldcoop and informing the relevant structures of those decisions;
๐น Attracting new cooperative members – promoting cooperative principles and strengthening the Moldcoop network;
๐น Managing member contributions – overseeing registration fees, subscribed social shares, and annual membership dues;
๐น Maintaining records and reporting – preparing the financial balance sheet, compiling statistical reports, and monitoring Moldcoop’s organizational activities;
๐น Human resource management – hiring and dismissing Moldcoop staff, establishing duties and responsibilities, and developing staffing and remuneration structures;
๐น Providing economic and financial support – assisting the financial operations of associated consumer cooperative entities;
๐น Administering Moldcoop’s funds – in accordance with financial norms and internal regulations;
๐น Managing cooperative property – reviewing and proposing decisions regarding the disposal of assets within the Central Union;
๐น Appointing leadership roles – approving, at the president’s proposal, the vice presidents of the Executive Bureau, as well as directors and chief accountants of affiliated cooperative enterprises;
๐น Organizing cooperative actions – initiating collaboration projects, networking, and social activities among cooperatives;
๐น Legal representation – signing contracts, agreements, conventions, and issuing powers of attorney on behalf of Moldcoop.
The Moldcoop Executive Board stands as the driving force behind the cooperative movement’s day-to-day operations, ensuring cohesive, efficient, and forward-thinking governance. Through its work, it supports the ongoing development, unity, and vitality of the national cooperative system in the Republic of Moldova.
