Moldcoop – The Central Union of Consumer Cooperatives of the Republic of Moldova is a leading structure of the national cooperative movement, established on the principle of free association. It brings together consumer cooperatives and territorial unions that have voluntarily chosen to collaborate within a common, democratic and solidarity-based framework in order to achieve their economic, social, and legal objectives.

An Open Platform for Consumer Cooperatives Across the Country

Moldcoop is open to all consumer cooperative organizations in the Republic of Moldova, providing them with an organized framework for representation, collaboration, and support. Affiliation with the Union grants members access to a wide range of benefits:

  • Assistance in economic, legal, and organizational activities;
  • Priority access to the services of the Union’s cooperative enterprises;
  • Active participation in the decision-making and control processes of the central union;
  • The possibility to submit proposals and initiatives for the development of the cooperative movement;

Mission, Vision, and Strategic Role

Based on its Statute, Moldcoop assumes the responsibility of representing the interests of its associated cooperatives, both before public authorities and in relations with international bodies such as the International Cooperative Alliance. The Union promotes cooperative values and principles, develops development strategies, and coordinates the implementation of decisions adopted by the Cooperative Congress.

Moldcoop acts to:

  • Technical-economic and financial assistance for affiliated members;
  • Supervision and guidance in compliance with legislation and the Union’s own decisions;
  • Legislative collaboration through the initiation and drafting of cooperative-related bills;
  • International relations and negotiation of cooperation agreements with external partners;
  • Cooperative education through the organization of specialized education and professional training programs;
  • Coordination of accounting, statistical records, and the information system;
  • Dispute resolution through its own arbitrators;
  • Publication of informational and promotional materials in the cooperative field.
